About the event
Day 1 Sat. June 7th: Begin with a guided foraging session on the property, gathering plants and materials to create your own stunning, naturally dyed fabrics. We will dye both silk organza and fine linen in preparation for day 2. On day one we will also dive into different natural dyeing techniques, and the unique characteristics of each botanical source.
Day 2 (Optional) Sun. June 8th: Turn your dyed pieces into a multi layered and dimensional wall hanging, window covering or a traditional Japanese curtain known as a Noren. Using the fabrics you dyed on the first day we will further embellish and piece them using simple linen thread and hand stitching techniques to create a beautiful and functional piece of art for your home.
Refreshments and dessert offered, please bring your own lunch.
